Where are my strong, secure men at?

by | Dec 4, 2023 | All, My Stories, My Struggles, Relationships, The Adventures of Dating

In case you didn’t know, dating is tough. And it’s even harder when you’re a strong, independent, and successful woman. To meet a man that can hold a successful, high-achieving professional woman, and not be intimidated, feels like finding a needle in a haystack.

Everybody thinks that when you’re ready for love, the line of high-quality, successful men should be lined up waiting, especially when you’re not looking, but I have determined that’s a lie.

I might not know much, but there’s one thing I do know. When a single woman has a thriving career, makes her own money and doesn’t  need a man, but chooses a man….what’s required in a man and from a partnership is very different.

Settling isn’t an option.

I’m looking for the kind of love that lights me up from within. A man that accepts me for who I  truly am, success and all….a man who loves me unconditionally and chooses me everyday.

A true love to travel the world with, to experience life with, and to create a richness that can only come when two people are living life to the fullest together.

But finding a man who is living at my level, a man with ambition, goals, a man with a die hard work ethic, a man that is driven, and a man that is my equal, is a man that’s hard to come by, and finding a man who is okay with a woman who is more successful than him, is even more difficult.

Time and again I find this to be an issue. The very qualities that attract men to me are the same qualities that they eventually end up resenting. And a man with insecurities is a very difficult man to deal with, especially for a strong, ambitious, independent woman. Anything you do to improve yourself, he will more than likely view as a threat to his manhood. He is the type of man who will support you, and celebrate your successes, but only to an extent, and as long as it doesn’t threaten how he feels about himself….and I don’t have time for that. Mediocre just won’t do, and I’m holding out for what I want.

So cheers to the men who recognize and appreciate a strong, successful woman and are secure enough in themselves to stand by her side. I’m sure you’re out there somewhere. You’re the real MVPs.

XOXO,
Allison Rose
